How to write a CV ?

Actually, i was looking for writing my C.V in good style , I find great post on Gbuzz about it i hope you enjoy this post.

How to write a CV ?
1- Introduction:
- Your C.V. is your own personal advertisement , think of it as a promotional brochure .
- It’s main purpose is to illustrate skills and experience relevant to the type of work you are
seeking .
- The C.V.highlights those things about you that are the most interesting , impressive and
unique , without giving away all the details .
- it should help employers determine whether your skills match their needs .
- it should also sufficiently impress a potential employer so that he or she invites you to an
interview to learn even more .
● The Terms C.V. ( curriculum vitae ) :
1 – Resume are used interchangeable they are distinct .
2 – The c.v. is generally used for academic positions and is much longer , as it includes
publications , conferences, etc .
3 – A resume is shorter and only and only contains information that is relevant to particular
position .
4 – For our purposes, however, we will use as a general term .
● Five Steps To Writing and Effective C.V. :
1 – Talking an inventory of your skills and experiences .
2 – Finding a suitable employer .
3 – Choosing the right format .
4 – Writing your C.V.
5 – Customizing your C.V.
- C.V. is an important document and is absolutely essential to have one when searching for a
job .
- Employer looks at C.V. they want to see whether or not having the eduction , practical skills
and work experience needed for the position .
● Some Points To Help To Introduce Your C.V. :
- Contact Information:
- It includes name , address , e-mail address and contact numbers listed .
- Employment History:
- List places of employment starting with most recent , and then working backwards .
- It should include the month and year that you started and stopped employment at
each company , as well your job title .
- Education History:
- List the most recent first .
- Along with your format education , you may also wish to list any other courses you took that
are relevant to application .
- Hobbies and Interests:
- List anything that your employer may find interesting about you .
- Some people tend to skip this step ; however , you never know when one of your hobbies
and interests may be what gets you an interview .
- References:
- Typically you will be required to give the contact information for at least two work references
and two personal references .
- If you are a recent graduate however , you may be able to give references from one of your
professors .
2- what is a C.V. resume for a C.V. ?
- Resume is quite simply an “advert” to sell yourself to an employer .
- You should send a C.V to an employer when they ask for one in a job advert, or when you
are enquiring if any jobs are available .
- The purpose of your C.V. is to make you attractive , interesting , worth considering to the
company so receive a job interview .
- An Employer may have several hundred enquires about a single job, he or she will only
choose a few people who appear suitable for interview .
- Your C.V. must be as good as you can make it .
3- General Advice:
- If you are a student , there is probably a career advice office in your place of study .
- They are there to help .
- They may have fact-sheets of advice on how to prepare a C.V.
- Make full use of them .
- Employers don’t want to see C.V.’s which are all written in exactly the same way .
- Don’t just copy standard C.V samples .
- Your C.V should be your own , personal , and a little bit different .
- A C.V. should be constructed on a word-processor (or at least typed) , well laid out and
printed on a god quality printer .
- Do use bold and / or underline print for headings .
- Don’t use lots of different font types and sizes .
- You aren’t designing a magazine cover !
- Do use plenty of white space , and a good border round the page .
- Do use the spell-check on computer ! or ( check that the spelling is correct in some way ) .
- you are using a computer or word-processor , you can easily “ customize ” your C.V. if
necessary , and change the layout and the way you write your C.V. for different employers .
- Picture yourself to be a busy manager in the employer’s office
Two Communication Principles To Remember:
- keep it simple .
- If they didn’t hear it , you didn’t not say it
- When you have written a first attempt at your C.V. , get someone else to look at it , and tell
you how how to make it better
- Ask your friends , your tutors or teachers , your career office , family friends in business
- What you have written may seem simple and obvious to you , but not to an employer !
- Go through it again and again with a red pen , making it shorter , more readable , more
understandable !
4 – before you start:
- Sit down with a piece of paper .
- Look at the job(s) that you are applying for .
- Consider how your skills , eduction ,and experience compare with the skills that the job
requires .
- How much information do you have about the job description? some times employers don’t
give enough information .
- Ask for more detail if needed .
- Spend time researching detail about the structure , products , successes approach-form:
1- Their own publicity .
2- Reports and publications .
3- A Library ( business reports , trade papers ) .
4- College career office
5- Newspaper
6- the Internet

- Make sure it is a good one .
- Get a friend or working photographer to take a good portrait .
Presentation:
- you may vary the style according to type of job and what is accepted in your country and
culture .
- A big company would normally expect a formal C.V. on white paper .
- Just perhaps , a C.V. applying for television production job, or graphic designer , could be
less formal – colored paper , unusual design, etc .
- Consider using a two column table to list your educational qualifications and courses taken .
Covering Letter:
- When sending in a C.V. or job application form , you must include a covering letter
The purpose of the letter:
1-
* To make sure that the C.V. arrives on the desk of the correct person .
* Take trouble to telephone , and find the name of the person who will be dealing with
applications or C.V.’s and address your letter and envelope, to that person by name .
* In a small company , it may be the managing director .
* In a medium size company , it may be the head of section/department .
* Only in a large company will there be a Personal or Human Resource Department .
2-
* To persuade the person to read your C.V.
* it must be relevant to the company , interesting , and well produced
wait for your comments :)

* أصعب الدموع…
تلك التي نذرفها أمام من لا يستحق .
* أصعب الأما ني …
